Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Jews and Muslims, together for the protection of the planet.
It happens in Milan where, today, the conference "Your heart keeps my precepts. A creation to be guarded by responsible believers in response to the Word of God " promoted by the Cei Office for Ecumenism and Dialogue, in collaboration with the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy, the Orthodox Archdiocese of Italy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Coptic Orthodox diocese of Saint George, the Church of England and the Romanian Orthodox diocese, took place. The event sees around 300 people gathered to discuss the challenges of our planet and the responsibilities of each one. The path moves from the responsibility entrusted by God to man to guard creation, to the "denunciation of the wrong paths", and ends with the "proposal of a new path".
For the occasion, Cardinal Peter K. A. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for promoting Integral Human Development, sent a greeting video message, urging the Churches to treat the Creation and all that is contained in it "like a brother and a sister ", Inspired by the spirituality of St. Francis who called "the sun Brother and the earth Sister".
