A day of study on the subject “Pornography: a pastoral challenge in light of integral human development” was held on 17 May 2019 at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
The event was organized by the Istituto Studi Superiori sulla Donna of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and by the social promotion association "Puri di Cuore". The Salesian Pontifical University, the John Paul II Pontifical Theological Institute, the Sacerdos Institute of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and the Family and Media Study Center supported the event alongside the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
About forty people took part in the initiative, including seminarians, priests, religious men and women, therapists and lay people involved in the training on natural fertility regulation methods and in the pastoral care for families in their diocese.
The speeches highlighted the need for an interdisciplinary approach to the challenges posed by pornography today, with particular focus on prevention and exit from addiction mechanisms.
