Van Thuân Fondation
The Van Thuân Foundation was established by a Rescriptum ex Audientia Sanctissimi of the Supreme Pontiff Francis on July 25, 2023, and entrusted to the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
It is named after Cardinal Francois-Xavier Nguyên Van Thuân, former President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace from 1998 until his death in 2002.
In the same Act, the Holy Father orders the cessation of the "Good Samaritan" Foundation and the "Justice and Peace Foundation"-formerly the St. Matthew Foundation-both subject to the same Dicastery and stipulates that the residual patrimony of the before mentioned foundations be made to flow into the erected Van Thuân Foundation.
The purpose of the Van Thuân Foundation is to support the activities of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, for its own purposes.

In addition, the Van Thuân Foundation is in no way concerned with the cause of the beatification of Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyên Van Thuân.
