The Dictionary of the Social Doctrine of the Church - Dizionario di dottrina sociale della Chiesa (Libreria Ateneo Salesiano, Rome 2005, pp. 837, 35 euro) is proposed as a useful tool for those who want to know and live better the social doctrine of the Church, and also for those who must explain this teaching.
It presents the main notions concerning the social doctrine of the Church, with particular reference to the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church. More than 160 items have been chosen to cover the whole area of teaching, since, in a certain sense, they bring together the concepts proper to this subject. It is a work that does not replace the Compendium of the Church's social doctrine: rather, it has been conceived to facilitate even more its dissemination, so that we all live more coherently our identification with Christ in the social sphere.
Edited by H. Exc. Giampaolo Crepaldi, former Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, and Prof. Enrique Colom, Professor of Theology at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Preface by Card. Renato R. Martino, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace (since August 2016 it has merged into the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development).
