The Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, Sister Alessandra Smerilli FMA, was awarded the Academic Order of Minerva on Monday, June 3, at the Marrucino Theater in Chieti.
The Academic Order of Minerva is the highest honor bestowed by the University “Gabriele d'Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara.
Sister Alessandra Smerilli taught Political Economy and Statistics at the Pontifical Faculty of Education Auxilium.
The awarding of the honor was also be an opportunity to visit the University Campus of Chieti, where Sister Smerilli met with the Rector of the University, Prof. Liborio Stuppia, who invited “the entire academic community and all citizens to this ceremony, which will be a wonderful encounter between D'Annunzio and its territory”.
The Order of Minerva is an academic honor awarded by the D'Annunzio University to national and international personalities who have significantly contributed to advancing Science, Culture, and Economy. The proposal for the award is presented to the Academic Senate by the Rector, accompanied by a detailed report justifying the reasons for the award. The symbol consists of a gold medal bearing the head of Minerva.
