A summer course in Switzerland on current global ecological and socio-economic challenges

The Eco Summer Camp at the Lassalle-Haus training center in Edlibach, Switzerland is an educational week focused on sustainability. Participants have the opportunity to discuss global ecological and socio-economic challenges with experts in the field, and then try to develop sustainable strategies to meet these challenges.

The theme of Eco Summer Camp 2024 is 'From Wild Consumption to Responsible Engagement'.  The aim is to make individual choices responsible within a cultural movement to advance society's common ecological, social, and spiritual transformation.

As part of the weekly program, a panel discussion entitled 'The role of spirituality and science in socio-ecological transformation' is scheduled for Thursday, 22 August. Sister Alessandra Smerilli, Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, will also take part.

Joining her in the discussion will be Dr. Aneeqa Malik, founder of ISRA (Integral Soulidarity Research Academy) and co-founder of Trans4m Communiversity Associates, as well as Dr. Amar Nayak, Full Professor at the Xavier Institute of Management and President of the Centre for Evolving and Interacting Systems Science.

The three experts, who come from different cultures, countries, and beliefs, will be called upon by Dr. Stefan Einsiedel, Director General at the Centre for Social and Development Studies at the Munich School of Philosophy and moderator of the event, to discuss questions such as: 'What is the role of faith in socio-ecological transformation? How can faith and science work together and be fruitful for each other?"

The Eco Summer Camp has been held in Switzerland since 2021. Around 50 participants (aged 18 to 35 and over), as well as a dozen experts and scholars, from all parts of the world, are expected at this year's event.
